PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The KCR project had been brought under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework by Government of Sindh (GOS) and the Federal Government. Promag has been part of a Consortium assigned to assist Transport & Mass Transit Department (TMTD) of Government of Sindh in the Revival of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) Project.

The Consortium comprised technical, financial and legal consultants (including KPMG Taseer Hadi & Co, NESPAK, Akhund Forbes and DeHeng Law Offices) for this mega infrastructure project of national significance. The Consortium’s services broadly include comprehensive assistance, preparation of preliminary design, transaction preparation, bidder’s solicitation and transaction advisory services.

The assignment encompassed a review of the urban planning framework, traffic analysis zones, project mobilization, demand forecasting and conceptual design leading to the preparation of preliminary design schemes for commercial products as well as railway structures, stations, platforms, railway systems, operational aspects, power generation & transmission as well as safeguards for environmental and social aspects Lastly, a transaction preparation including project structuring, bid documents, bid solicitation and bidder’s selection was also required.

Promag’s focus in the consortium was on Cost Estimation, Revenue Generation, Investment Plan, Economic Evaluation and Financial Analysis for the project.
