324 Acres of composite integrated ‘Destination Project’ on the pristine Mangla Lake including high-end Housing and Smart Homes
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project is being developed as the first fresh water lake, gated community of its kind in Pakistan. Located in the secure enclave of the Mangla Cantonment with a 5-star resort hotel, the project offers a several branded residential products (villas, chalets, apartments) complemented with recreational and adjunct facilities. In addition to a complete range of outdoor recreational and sports facilities, the lake also offers a unique location for water sports and extreme games within the resort component.
Another prominent feature of the Mangla Development includes an exclusive residential community featuring ‘Smart Homes’, envisioned to offer smart technology and sustainable solutions for a modern self-sufficient residential enclave.
The site was divided in to several precincts owing to the natural terrain barriers and for the purpose of product differentiation. Precinct 6 is MGH’s premium waterfront phase with exclusive residential products based around a luxury resort. Similarly, waterfront smart homes have been planned in Precinct 3 while other segments have been reconfigured to offer affordable products.
Since the project was at a standstill for many years, it was left with a number of unattended financial commitments as well as institutional debts. A number of solutions were evolved to address these factors. Key aspects of the project include the following;

- Bridge Engineering for inter-connected Precincts.
- Design of Roads in mountainous terrain – Road Slope Stability & Road protection with help of retaining wall structures.
- Disposal of stormwater due mountainous terrain – road construction and allied stormwater management synchronized to protect completed infrastructure from stormwater damage.
- Seasonal variation in water level of the Mangla Dam – Master Planning & Infrastructure design planned in accordance with seasonal variation in water level of the dam and corresponding soil erosion.
